Experience LACWGA TEAM PLAY

LOS ANGELES COUNTY WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION TEAM PLAY INFORMATION AND ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY:

Players must

a) Be a member of LACWGA by April 1st and

b) Have a current and permanent index with SCGA.

TEAM STRUCTURE AND HANDICAP INDEX INFORMATION:

Teams must have at a roster of least 8 and no more than 20 players 

Player indexes for the league will be the average of their month-end indexes for May, June and July

“A” Team will consist of players with an average index of 0 to 22.0. A player with a higher average index may play, but she must play to a maximum index of 22.0.

“B” Team will consist of players with an average index of 16.1 to 40.0. A player with a higher average index may play, but she must play to a maximum index of 40.0.

If your club has an “A” Team and a “B” Team, no “B” Team player may have a lower average index than that of the highest average index of an “A” Team Player.

A player may NOT roster on more than one team. Any player found to be on the roster of more than one team will be disqualified from all teams for the remainder of the season and the associated teams will not be allowed to replace that player for the remainder of the season.

You may include players from your club, players at large, players from clubs that do not have teams, and players from clubs that have full teams with the approval of the other club’s team captain

No team will be penalized and/or disqualified for reporting to a match in which they field less than a full complement of (8) players. The Team Captain shall determine which team will play short while maintaining the proper handicap order.

A team that cancels after the team schedule has been finalized will be ineligible to field a team the following year except by approval of the LACWGA Executive Board.

Participation in Team Play matches counts towards eligibility for Major LACWGA Tournaments. NO team may have sponsorship for equipment or fees. See USGA Rules on amateur status.

If your Club needs to change their scheduled team play date you may reschedule in agreement with the opposing Captain. You must arrange your own tee times and venue and communicate this change to the LACWGA Team Play Chair.

Potential Team Play Dates: Aug 24, 31; Sep 28; Oct 5, 12, 16; Nov 2, 9, 16 (each team will play 4-6 of the above dates), Finals Nov 30 or Dec 14. 

Potential Team Play Venues: Alhambra, Brookside, Chester Washington, DeBell, Hansen Dam, Lakewood, La Mirada, Recreation Park, Rio Hondo, Santa Anita
